General Cardiologists

Denisse Sangha, MD, FACC

Dr. Sangha is a board certified cardiologist who graduated from Louisiana State University in Shreveport, followed by medical school at Ross University. During medical school, her mission work in Zambia and past volunteer work in El Salvador led her to seek further education with graduate degrees in public health and business administration from Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois. She has a passion for the value of education and preventative medicine, which is seen in her care provided to her patients. She is a wife and a proud mother of 2 daughters.

Julie Remo, MD, FACC

Dr. Julie Remo originally hails from the Baltimore, Maryland-Washington D.C. area. After a distinguished military career that took her from Maryland to Augusta, Georgia, and to Landstuhl, Germany, she finally settled in New Braunfels, Texas in 2014 to enjoy civilian life.  She completed both her internal medicine residency (2003) and cardiology fellowship (2006) at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC.  She holds board certifications in internal medicine, cardiology, nuclear cardiology, and echocardiography.  She has wholeheartedly enjoyed caring for the citizens of New Braunfels and Seguin. She and her husband, Keith Remo, have managed to raise three delightful sons, Max, Gavin, and Gage. They all enjoy traveling and having adventures together.

Sheri Boyd, MD

Dr. Boyd is a graduate of Creighton University School of Medicine. She completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Madigan Army Medical Center and fellowship in cardiology at Brooke Army Medical Center. Dr. Boyd finished her 28 year Army career as Chief of Cardiology at Brooke Army Medical Center and continued her cardiology medical career in New Braunfels and San Marcos, Texas. She is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and a Fellow in the American College of Cardiology. Women’s cardiovascular health and disease is a major focus of her practice. Dr. Boyd is committed to the heart health of our communities, for both men and women, partnering with Love Your Heart and Volunteers in Medicine over the last decade. Dr. Boyd and her husband love attending college football games, upland bird hunting, fly fishing, and vacationing with their children.

Stephen Carey, MD, PhD, FACC

Dr. Carey is a board certified cardiologist. He attended Harvard University and obtained his PhD in 1983 with a degree in Chemistry. Dr. Carey graduated from the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California in 1987. He performed his residency in Internal Medicine at David Grant Medical Center from 1987-1991. He completed his Cardiology training at San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium in 1994. He is a Fellow of American College of Cardiology. Dr. Carey moved to New Braunfels, TX, to begin his services to cardiology patients in 1996. He has been serving this community and the surrounding areas for over 24 years. He specializes in general cardiology including diagnostic evaluation of cardiac arrhythmias, pacemaker implantation, and medical management of cardiac conditions. He is an avid dog lover, friend of many within the healthcare community, and parishioner of Sts. Peter and Paul Church. He is married and has 2 children. He loves to travel and has keen interest in photography, reading, and history.
