Arterial Ultrasound
An arterial ultrasound is a painless, non-invasive imaging test that uses sound waves to evaluate blood flow in the arteries of the legs or other areas of the body. This test helps identify narrowing, blockages, or other circulation problems that may affect blood flow.
HOW TO PREPARE
Wear comfortable clothing.
You may be asked to remove clothing from the waist down.
WHAT TO EXPECT
During the exam, a vascular technologist will apply a small amount of gel to the area being evaluated and use a handheld ultrasound device to capture images of your arteries and blood flow. The exam is painless, does not involve radiation, and typically takes 30 minutes.

AFTER THE TEST
You can return to your normal activities immediately following the exam. A physician will review the images and discuss the results with you.
